Student Government is a team of motivated and enthusiastic students, guided by the principles of legality, democracy, transparency, openness, self-governance and voluntariness. Independent in its nature, SG provides representation to the students' voice and works on implementation of student-led initiatives within and outside of Nazarbayev University.

Their main goal is to involve students into the decision-making, management, and governing processes of the University, for the sake of protection and proper representation of students' rights and opinions. They direct their work to many areas, such as academic and professional development of students, social and sport activities, health and residential matters, and many others.
