Youn Chu, Cho is a visiting professor from Korea Foundation (KF). She has earned M.P. in Translation Studies (2005), and M.A. in Second Language Learning and Teaching (2007) at Auckland University. She has completed Doctoral course work in Korean Education (2019) and now been writing her dissertation on developing the curriculum of linguistic integration between North and South Korean languages.
Prior to Nazarbayev University, Cho has taught Korean language, culture, phonics, and TOPIK at Busan University of Foreign Studies, Bukyeong National University, Dongseo University (in South Korea) and other overseas universities, such as Yanbian University, Anhui National University (in China) and Petra Christian University (in Indonesia), and so on.
Her research interests lie in language policy, language and culture, curriculum development, phonics, and wrote articles on language curriculum development and published books on Korean language, culture and pronunciation. She was also involved in developing online lectures for North Korean refugees.
