Political Behavior, Political Psychology, Formal Modelling, and Quantitative Methodologies.
Dr. Gento Kato earned his Ph.D. in political science from University of California, Davis in 2020, before joining the Poliicial Science and International Replations Department at Nazarbayev University. He also received a M.A. in political science from Waseda University and a B.A. in politics from International Christian University, Tokyo. Prior to entering college, He grew up in Kobe, a port city located in Western Japan. His research falls within the areas of Political Behavior, Political Psychology, Formal Modelling, and Quantitative Methodologies. Specifically, He is interested in the connection between political information and the mechanism of political decision-making and attitude formation. His works have appeared in Journal of Theoretical Politics, Political Research Quarterly, and Japanese Journal of Political Science, among other peer-reviewed journals.
