SSH student's success at the competition of the doctoral students' Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

The main event of the NU ARC-2024 Scientific and Practical Conference was the the final competition of the doctoral students' Three Minute Thesis (3MT). The university-wide 3MT competition took place for the first time on September 20. 3MT is an academic contest developed at the University of Queensland, Australia, and has since become a globally recognized challenge where PhD students must explain the significance of their research to an audience in just three minutes.

We are proud to highlight the exceptional achievements of the School of Sciences and Humanities (SSH), with Hafiz Muhammad Waqar Abid securing a prestigious 2nd place at the university level in the 3MT competition. Hafiz's win is particularly noteworthy as he earned 1st place within SSH, making him the official representative of the school at the university-wide event. His project focuses on combating climate change by creating porous materials that can convert CO₂ emissions into valuable products.

The runner-up for the School of Sciences and Humanities was Aisha Tursynkozha, who showcased her innovative research in an eloquent and compelling manner. Meanwhile, the People’s Choice Award was secured by Muhammad Salman Kiani, whose presentation resonated strongly with the audience, reflecting the impact and relevance of his work.

The School of Sciences and Humanities is committed to fostering research excellence and providing platforms like the 3MT competition to develop the next generation of leaders in academia and beyond. We look forward to seeing the continued success of our students in future competitions and their contributions to advancing knowledge in their respective fields.
