ISAAC-2025 to Be Held in Kazakhstan for the First Time

For the first time in its history, the prestigious International Congress on Analysis, Applications, and Computation (ISAAC-2025) will be held in Central Asia, hosted by Nazarbayev University in Astana. The event will take place from July 21 to 25, 2025, and coincides with the university’s 15th anniversary. This is expected to be the largest mathematics congress ever held in the region.

The 15th International ISAAC congress continues the successful series of meetings previously held in Delaware, USA (1997), Fukuoka, Japan (1999), Berlin, Germany (2001), Toronto, Canada (2003), Catania, Italy (2005), Ankara, Turkey (2007), London, UK (2009), Moscow, Russia (2011), Krakow, Poland (2013), Macao, China (2015), Växjö, Sweden (2017), Aveiro, Portugal (2019), Ghent, Belgium (2021), Ribeirão Preto, Brazil (2023).

Nearly 1,000 participants from across the globe will attend the 2025 congress in Astana, including a Fields Medalist—often referred to as the Nobel Prize of mathematics—and the President of the International Mathematical Union, the highest administrative role in the field.

ISAAC-2025 will feature a wide range of sessions on topics such as AI, mathematical finance, biology, neural networks, and other cutting-edge areas of applied mathematics.

As part of this mission, 100 young researchers—one-third of whom are from Kazakhstan—have been specially invited to participate. In support of the next generation of researchers, the QALAN group has launched Satbayev Grants, which will provide travel funding for 100 promising young scientists.

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan has encouraged academic and research institutions to ensure that many aspiring participants, including professors, PhD students, and master’s students, attend this high-profile congress.

This congress not only marks a scientific triumph for Kazakhstan but also places Central Asia on the global mathematical map, inspiring future breakthroughs in mathematical research.
