The international scientific-theoretical conference titled "Social and Humanitarian Sciences: Public Discourse" marks the launch of a new annual event dedicated to exploring research topics rooted in international theory. The focus was on international post-colonial theory. The conference aimed to foster professional development for faculty in "Kazakh language and Turkic studies," culminating each year in a research-focused event that highlighted the findings of this study to colleagues across Kazakhstan.
50 selected papers from this year's conference will be published in “Quttı Bilik”, the new journal of the International Association of Teachers of Kazakh Language (IATKL), founded by the Kazakh faculty at Nazarbayev University
Holding this conference was a significant step in our outreach to colleagues, which began with webinars during the COVID period and later expanded to include seminars and conferences. It not only created new opportunities for professional development for Kazakh faculty at Nazarbayev University and other institutions, but also led to publishing opportunities and enhanced the integration of Kazakhstani scholars into the international academic community. Ultimately, it contributed to informed discussions about the history and culture of the Kazakhs.
