The annual republican scientific conference of students "Young Scientist - VI" organized by the Department of Kazakh Language and Turkology of Nazarbayev University and the International Public Foundation of Kazakh Language Teachers was held on April 12 to mark the Day of Science in Kazakhstan and the 125th anniversary of the birth of Academician Kanysh Satpayev. This year more than 70 students from 21 universities of Kazakhstan took part in the conference.
The conference was opened with reports by invited speakers Tanat Ayapova, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor of Kazakh National University named after Abay and Moldiyar Ergebekov, Associate Professor of Journalism Department of Turkestan State Technical University named after Akhmet Yasavi, as well as Azamat Eshmukhambetov, Doctor of Robotics, researcher of Nazarbayev University.
In five concurrent plenary sessions, students gave presentations on a variety of topics, including:
Decolonization and Kazakh Cinema;
The image of woman in the prose of the XXI century;
The issue of religion in the media landscape of Kazakhstan;
Domestic violence and ways of prevention: foreign experience;
Development of Adventure Tourism in Turkestan;
What we know about mushel zhas (oral calendar of nomads), and many others.
The purpose of the annual conference is to form and develop students' skills in conducting academic research in the Kazakh language, to raise the status of the Kazakh language among young people, as well as to develop integration relations among students of higher education institutions of the country. At the end, the participants received certificates, thank-you letters and memorable gifts.
