Suragan Durvudkhan became the youngest academician of the Academy of Sciences in the history of Kazakhstan
The National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAS) announced the completion of the competition for the election of academicians. Among those selected is an associate professor at SSH NU, Department of Mathematics.
The decision to confer the title of academician was made at the General Meeting of the Academy based on the results of a competition held per the Rules for the election of academicians of the NAS of the Republic of Kazakhstan, approved by order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated December 30, 2022 No. 223.
Suragan, a King's College London graduate, is not only an outstanding scientist but also makes a significant contribution to the development of national education. He is actively involved in training specialists in mathematics and theoretical physics.
Doctor PhD Suragan was awarded the prestigious international The Ferran Sunyer i Balaguer Prize. He is also one of the most highly cited Kazakh scientists abroad. His current research interests include analysis on Lie groups, applied mathematics (mathematical physics), PDE, potential theory and spectral geometry.
The election of Suragan Durvudkhan to the academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan is a recognition of his outstanding scientific achievements and contribution to the development of science and education in Kazakhstan.
