Scientific Conference on Kazakh Linguistics Dedicated to the 70th Anniversary of Professor Zeynekhan Kuzekova at NU

On April 25, 2025, Nazarbayev University hosted the international scientific and practical conference "Kazakh Linguistics: Integration of Theory and Practice," dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the prominent scholar, Professor Zeynekhan Kuzekova. The event was organized by the Department of Kazakh Language and Turkic Studies of the School of Sciences and Humanities at Nazarbayev University under the leadership of Professor Meiramgul Kussainova.

Scientific and educational institutions from across the country also actively participated, including the Language Committee under the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, KAZTEST, the Shayakhmetov Language Resource Center "Тіл-қазына," the Y. Altynsarin Institute of Education under the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of Kazakhtelecom.

During the conference, participants discussed current issues in functional and communicative grammar, modern trends in Kazakh linguistics, methods of teaching the Kazakh language in higher education, the use of AI and IT technologies in education, as well as questions of ethnolinguistics, sociolinguistics, and medialinguistics.

A special honor for the celebrant was the awarding of a letter of appreciation from the Minister of Higher Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayat Nurbek, and the awarding of the Kanysh Satpayev Medal to Zeynekhan Kuzekova for her outstanding contribution to the development of science and education.

The holding of such events highlights the active contribution of NU faculty to the development of the Kazakh language, the advancement of scientific research, and the strengthening of the country's cultural heritage.
