Professor Durvudkhan Suragan Appointed to the National Kurultai of the Republic of Kazakhstan

The School of Sciences and Humanities of Nazarbayev University proudly announces that Professor Durvudkhan Suragan, a renowned mathematician and academician of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, has been appointed as a member of the Ulttyq Qurultay (National Kurultai).

The National Kurultai is a consultative and advisory body under the President of Kazakhstan, tasked with facilitating national dialogue. Its mission is to develop ideas and strategies that promote public unity, strengthen civic engagement, and ensure social cohesion.

As part of the recent rotation in the composition of the National Kurultai, Professor Suragan joins a distinguished group of public figures, including:

• Imamzada Shagyrtaev, member of the Public Council of Kyzylorda Region,
• Kanat Nurov, Ombudsman for the Protection of Entrepreneurs’ Rights in Kazakhstan,
• Bakhyt Bekseitova, member of the Public Council of Pavlodar Region.

This appointment reflects Professor Suragan’s significant contributions to science and education in Kazakhstan and his ongoing commitment to public service and national development.
