Prof. Mannix Balanay delivered an invited oral presentation at the 14th International Conference on Ceramic Materials and Components for Energy and Environmental Systems (CMCEE14) in Budapest, Hungary. The conference focused on advancements in nanostructured and hybrid functional materials for energy and sustainability. Prof. Balanay's talk was titled "Exploring Alternative Electrodes Beyond Platinum for Enhanced Photovoltaic Efficiency and Stability."
The CMCEE conference series, which began in the 1980s, is renowned for its cutting-edge presentations and comprehensive exchange of information on the latest developments in ceramic technologies and their applications. This year's conference attracted nearly 550 participants from over 35 countries. The scientific program featured four plenary lectures, including presentations by 2019 Nobel laureate Prof. M. Stanley Whittingham on "Pushing the Limits of Lithium Batteries," Prof. Sang Il Seok from Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology on perovskite solar cells, Dr. Christian Kasztelan from Infineon Technologies AG on power electronics, and Dr. Shunpei Yamazaki from Semiconductor Energy Laboratory on semiconductor technologies.
In addition, the conference included 42 keynote speeches, 215 invited talks, and 160 oral presentations distributed across nine parallel sessions, as well as 42 digital poster presentations.
