Prof. Kammakakam’s MEET Lab has primarily focused on developing advanced organic porous materials and functional polymeric membranes for energy-saving separation technology and environmentally friendly green energy applications. Newly developed ionic-mediated materials are extensively studied for various modern applications, including gas separation, ion/ion separation, CO2 capture and sequestration, oil/water separation, wastewater treatment, and energy conversion and storage.
