Under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Elkamhawy, two undergraduate students from the School of Science and Humanities (SSH), Polina Rakhalskaya (4th-year Biology) and Zarina Aisauytova (2nd-year Chemistry), successfully presented novel research findings from the Elkamhawy Lab at the prestigious 12th International Beremzhanov Congress, held in Almaty from December 4–6.
The International Beremzhanov Congress is renowned for highlighting recent advancements in chemistry and chemical technology within Kazakhstan and internationally. Polina presented work on the design and synthesis of chalcone-based benzenesulfonamides as potent and selective inhibitors, while Zarina introduced research on the discovery of novel naphthamide compounds as human monoamine oxidase inhibitors.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to both students on this remarkable accomplishment and wish them continued success in their academic and research endeavors.
